Becker's DIY Auto Restoration is pleased to announce...
Our friend and previous class member Clayton Paddison
has his 1927 Model T Roadster on display at the California
Auto Museum in Sacramento.

The display ended on July 5th and Clayton drove the daylights out of her after changing a fuel filter.  We are glad to see Josephine home and she will be on display this Sunday July 18th, at Forest Grove Concours d'Elegance.  FGCD is the most prestigious car show in the Northwest after Pebble Beach and is held in Forest Grove, Oregon, about 25 miles west of Portland.

The next weekend you may see at Brook's Steam-up (July 23 to 25th)(about 34 miles south of Portland on I-5).  Clayton will be touring down with us and our 1909 Brush Run-about (that Bill and Karen will be driving).

I first met Bill and his son Chris, with whom I became good friends, in 2003 after taking one of his restoration classes. After a year or two Chris urged me to come out on Saturdays and pitch in, and I did.  One of those Saturdays, I was telling him about wanting to build a hot rod and Chris convinced me to buy his family’s 1926 Model T and hot rod it. I’m still not quite sure what made me do it, but I bought the roadster 2 days later.  The project was monstrous and in the beginning I really had NO IDEA what I was doing as I had never restored or built a car before, but thanks to Bill and Chris and everyone else I have learned almost all of the skills to build just about anything and more importantly the self esteem to take on anything with out a second thought

Since then, all of the Becker family and everyone out at the shop have become like my second “family away from home”. With there help and support, I built my ‘26 T roadster into a hot rod that has become revered by one of the largest online Hot Rod communities in the world…..The Jalopy Journal. All this from one class, Bill and Chris’s expertise and the fantastic shop and its wonderful community….That’s just something you won’t find anywhere else, and what makes this place one of a kind.

I can’t wait to get started on my next project.
